Magnolia Speech School - Madison, Mississippi

The Magnolia Speech School is the first school to be constructed with Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) in central Mississippi. As an area prone to hazardous weather like hurricanes and tornadoes, the building required superior durability and a saferoom to protect students and faculty.

The resiliency of the Nudura ICF blocks meant the product was undisturbed despite harsh weather conditions that were battled on site. The high R-value and continuous insulation of ICF walls provides substantial financial advantages, since the added energy efficiency will save money on utility bills and the extra funds can be allocated to directly benefit the students. Nudura ICFs also dampen outside noises for a quieter, more productive learning environment for students.

Compatible Prebuck window and door bucks, which are made for direct contact with concrete, enabled the design to have large openings for natural light in each classroom as well.
